It's been a while since I blogged because I've been very busy. I'm not sure why I've been so busy considering I do not have a full time job. I did go on my first job interview in many, many years (not in broadcasting). That was a terrifying experience! Someone more qualified got the job and I wasn't upset about that. Actually it was a relief because I wasn't even sure I wanted the job. I know, you're wondering why I applied for it - because someone asked me to. Lesson learned.
Anyway, keep checking back because an announcement is coming soon about something new I'm going to be involved in. It's going to be fun and a great outlet for my creative side.

.. whatever it is, Mel, I wish you the best!
You know you are such a well-anchored voice personality in this city I sure hope you keep an ear open regarding your original broadcasting potential, as well, as one never knows what could pop up, eh?
I sure miss you on the air. It's as if something is missing at AM800, like a spark of life. You were the only one capable with consistent talent to brighten my days. Always alive and intriguing -- a talent specifically and uniquely yours... truly making you a "Windsor Gem"!
Miss you on the radio. The new show is bad, with monotone voices. Can't stand K.M.'s voice.

CHUM has a habit of training people in semi-large markets while Melanie was already there. What gets me is the A-News TV crew (part of CHUM) is being supported in their jobs by a federal handout so why wasn't Mel's radio job protected too. She is a very valuable and experienced member of the Windsor media and we want her back!
Get with it CKLW or the 'book' will continue to favour American stations -- as it always has -- but with Mel gone -- now even more so.
